Some useful things to keep trouble away from your station: 1. To Mark 2. To all those who use The Sidstation with a MPC 2000 (xl) 1. In your case it sounds a little bit worse, but I was shocked too sometimes when I set up my live-equipment and the Station showed nothing on the display. After 5 minutes I noticed that with the transport the LCD-contrast knob on the back must have turned to 0 contrast...man, I was happy. If that doesn´t help, you should try to simply upload the standard-patches via midi. 2. YO! I am using my SidStation as main synthesizer for playing live for almost a year now. Sometimes it happens (i don´t know why) that it breaks down. My advice: DO BACKUPS of your patches. So it´s not so hard, bacause you don´t really loose them ---ok, when it breaks down, I really have a problem. I put the .syx - files on the Internet to be able to download them anywhere in the world. But: If you need it- be shure there is no computer with a midi-soundcard or a connection-cable. So I was really happy to find out that I can backup my patches into my MPC 2000xl !. How to do it: Connect the [out] of the Sidstation to the [in] of the MPC. Then prepare the MPC to record a Sequence (with 15 Bars or whatever and e.g. 90 BPM). Prepare the SidStation to send Sysex (all patches).. Start recording on the MPC then press send on the Sidstation. You will notice that the Sequence on the MPC will slow down. When it´s finished press stop on the MPC -> and save the sequence. When you want to upload the patches to the station one time, simply connect the MPC midi out to the Station´s midi in and start the sequence on the MPC. THAT WILL SAVE YOUR LIVE, believe me! cheers Slpank! frank moreno schrieb: > I had a similar problem once.
