Monomachine vs. Sidstation

Monomachine vs. Sidstation

2004-10-25 by tlodding

Hi,

I would like to buy a monomachine sfx-60, but can´t afford it
without selling my sidstation. I know the monomachine is a very
versatile machine that sound awesome, but I´m really into the
sidsound. How good is the monomachine to make sidsounds?
Will I regret selling the sidstation?

Please help me out here :-)

Best regards
Terje

I'd say keep the Sid and save up. the MnM Sid sound is great but it
doesn't have
as much character. it's much more tame and clean sounding (which is nice
too; it sounds excellent!). and if you love the Sid sound, you'll
probably
regret getting rid of it. if you didn't love it, I'd say sell it since
the price of Sids
lately has been outrageous and could pay for 3/4 of an SFX-60. but
since
you do love it, hang on if you can....

exactly!
the sidstation has a very unique sound, its not possible to copy it
with anything the mono gives you.
keep the sid! :)
