Elektron Musical Instruments

Hi All I am using system x librarian for mac osx and seem to beable to backup 
my machinedrum data into the program but for some reason Machinedrum 
will not recieve the data from the libraryian application!!! The Md is waiting for 
me to send it so then I send it and the system x librarian shows it is sending 
the saved files back to restore my MD kits and patterns but MD just keeps 
waiting? I am not sure what im doing wrong please help. I am running OS X 
10.3.4 Mac g5 1.8ghz single processor with a Digidesign Midi I/O For my midi

what application?  sysex librarian?

is the MD receving *no* data at all?  can you confirm that the librarian is sending on
the right port and that there'e traffic showing on your midi interface?

if it's receiving some data, showing errors, and reverting to a waiting state, you maye
need to increase the time between message-sends.

Yes the Application is called system x librarian, I am using Port 10 on 
my midi interface so I select port 10 for dumping and receiving within 
the system x librarian Application also my midi interface shows 
activity on port 10 when sending or receiving Sys x messages. The MD 
just says on the screen waiting the whole time and when the system x 
librarian shows its done sending to the MD I go to the MD to check the 
specific place where I sent it to and it is not their no kit or 
pattern!!! It is showing no errors during the dump or recieve. My 
settings within the system librarian application are as 
follows----Pause between played messages is set at 150 ms-------sys x 
receive time out is set to 1 second-------show file size as abbreviated 
set to 1.2 Kb-------Also when I dump any sy x messages from MD to the 
System x librarian It recognizes the MD as Amek systems it doesnt 
recognize the dump coming from Elektron MD. I hope I am making sense

Hi Paul! I tried googling for an app called "system x librarian", and had no luck. There is, 
however an application called "SysEx Librarian" which sounds a lot like the program you're 
using. If it is the same program, make sure you're running the most recent version (1.0.4). 
It's available from www.snoize.com.

Also, make sure you've selected the correct MIDI destination in the app.

Thanks Andrew It is the program by snoize and I think I have the newest 
version but Ill double check to make sure. When I dump My MD patterns 
and kits to the snoize Application it recognizes the dumps as AMEK 
SYSTEMS??? I dont know why and either does Elektron But I need to 
figure this out because I have hours of programming I need to backup 
mainly kits and patterns.I dont know if Iam doing something wrong but I 
cant find anyone who can solve my problem I emailed Snoize and got no 
response I need help I cant figure this out but I will check for a 
software update. By the way is the Mono machine cool I am thinkin Of 
another Elektron purchases??? Also Is Snoize the best program to use

SysEx Librarian is the best program in my opinion for OSX sysex file 
handling.

please load the .mid or .syx file into your sequencer of choice, nad make the
destination of that track your machinedrum.  set the tempo to something like 100 BPM,
put the MD in receive mode and start your sequencer (make sure you have no other active
tracks or any devices sending midi clock, mtc and so on).

what happens?

Make sure you've got the latest Digidesign driver. They JUST released a new one (version 
2.1):
