This piece of machine is ok??

This piece of machine is ok??

2004-11-30 by devegans

Ok I stopped taking taking mind altering drugs quite some time ago so
I know I just saw something upon startup of the MD.Instead of showing
the O.S./Logo screen, a face of a man that looked like Elvis er
something with what looked like"This Machine is Ok" on his side.It
happened so quick didnt have time to see anything else.Has anyone
ever seen this or know what the hell this is all about.Kinda freaked
me out cuz for the past few weeks I've been debating on selling it.

That's perfectly normal, and yes that was Elvis. its programmed to randomly
replace the normal boot screen. Elvis pops up on my MD every several months
to make sure I know its ok :-)

BTW: to those talking about the FAQ, I think a mention of the Elvis boot
screen should be included.

I wonder if the MnM has a similar Easter egg.

/Scott

P.S. I made a note of the Elvis boot screen.

Maybe you should rotate your pelvis while booting the MD ;)

Hi Niall

Turn your machine on and off about 50 times and he'll appear sooner
or later ;-) I think he's popped up at last 15 times on my machine
the last 2 1/2 years.
The graphic interface of the MD was presented in a book about Nordic
graphic design a couple of years back. Several MD screen shots were
pictured, among them the Elvis screen, but also others that I've
never seen on the MD. Maybe they were software beta version specials
that were never used in the production model.

Regards
Nils
