parameter locks and sysex send/receive

so, in preparation to update the OS in my MD i sysex dumped everything as back up just in case. updating the OS was snap but now all my parameter locks are gone and dont seem to be working even though the display is indicating locked parameters. I dumped everything back in but still no dice.. anyone have similar problems? thanks steve
