Hi...!

Hi...!

2005-01-19 by Lo-Fi Massahkah

Hi all!

I've just ordered an Elektron Machinedrum after looking, drooling, and longing for one for quite a while.

My hardware setup as of now look like this:

Clavia G2
Akai MFC42
Roland SPD-8
Mixer, patchbay, yada, yada, yada...
(Just sold a MicroKorg and Roland SH-32 to partially finance the Machinedrum)
...and then a PC with Live 4 and some software.

I think that the Machinedrum will make a nice addition. But do you have any first hand tips on what I should start with to get the most pleasant experience? Any secret tweaks and nifty functions? Any poweruser tricks that'll make my monitors go "jausa!"?

Well, mostly I just wanted to say hi!

Cheers,
Mikael, Malmö, Sweden

ps. If you'd like to listen to my music - visit www.lofimassahkah.net

LOL I know what you are going threw. I had major problems forking over
the cash for the MD. However, all I can say is I have no regrets.
None! I belive with a clean line, it is rock solid.

What type of music do you produce? Awesome gear list. I want a Akai
MFC42, and a G2 LOL... If I had to recomend somthin to ya I would say
look into a analog monophonic synth for bass... I love my Pro-One,
Pluse+, and Jupiter 6. I find that analog bass rocks.

As for learning the MD, I would recomend reading the manual. It covers
everything... once you know the user interface it is quick to use, and
super fast.

Figure out how to lay down a beat. Learn how to jump to a machine
(instrument) all this is covered in the manual. Have fun using the
inputs of the MD as well.

Just watch it... you might enjoy your MD so much that you pick up a
Monomachine... I did, and am eating ramin at the moment. LOL

Enjoy ^_^
