New demo's

2005-01-29 by Roonan

Hi all,

Been a while (again) but I have some nice one's this time.
I have been setting up a groovebox laptop with a BCR2000 and Ableton
Live 4 to add some extra power to things you just can't do with the
mono like acoustic sounds, play chords (the easy way), have various
pattern lenghts etc...

But after playing around with this new setup I made a track with
just the mono and md and fel in love all over again, making tunes
with this couple is so easy and fun to do. I added some extra things
afterwards to spice it up but the main part is elektron stuff:
"Running Man":

Also have been busy doing other stuf with a collegue, this new
project is called DV8. Here are two examples:

http://home.planet.nl/~vonk0072/Demo/Roonan-Demo-2005-002.mp3

Enjoy, Ronald.

Was listening your first DV8 offering, and it is pretty sweet. Nice
and dark, sort of paranoid sounding. I dig it. What where you using
to process the one main drum loop (flanging, etc.)?

It's made with a Korg ESX1 linking two EFX, I believe it was a
Chorus through a Phaser. My collegue did the pattern and I made a
track from it adding a lot of noise putting the ESX through a
Sherman II and the strings off course. It's only the ESX what you
hear except the strings btw.

Appreciate it. That's the only thing that I really miss about my ESX,
the efx. I sold it and used the money towards an MPC1000, whose
effects are shite (I just send it through the inputs on my Indigo 2).
Anyway, I dig it. Thanks for sharing it with us

Thanks, the CD is coming later this year.
(I have to admit I say this every year ;-)

To be serious, I don't have a clue. We really want to do something
with it, but it depends on some factors. (money and two coming
contests for promising talent) So for now I just share them with
other musicians to inspire and enjoy.
