MnM & MD demo's

2005-04-11 by Roonan

It's a bit quiet here so time for some new alternative tunes:
<A HREF='http://roonan.Fiberworld.nl/Demo/05-007 Three waves of
Synthesis.mp3' TARGET='_blank'>- Three waves of Synthesis</A><br>
<A HREF='http://roonan.tweakdsl.nl/Demo/05-010 Knees and Elbows.mp3'
TARGET='_blank'>- Knees and Elbows</A><br>
(mostly Elektron gear used for these two)
Cut and paste when link doens't work because of the spaces in the
link, sorry...

Enjoy!

A URL cannot have spaces. You need to escape them; in this case, change
the spaces to %20, like so:

http://roonan.Fiberworld.nl/Demo/05-007%20Three%20waves%20of%20Synthesis.mp3
http://roonan.tweakdsl.nl/Demo/05-010%20Knees%20and%20Elbows.mp3

Once the URLs are fixed, the second one works. The first URL is wrong,
spaces or no. Can you post the correct URL?

Hmm, o.k., I changed the track names, the spaces in the links where
the problem as mentioned. Should be working fine now :-)

http://roonan.tweakdsl.nl/Demo/05-010.mp3

Enjoy? ;-)

Sorry for the triple post, I deleted it three times from the Yahoo
site, but it seems the mails still got send to the daily digest and I
guess also in the individual mails. It was not my intention to spam :-)

Ronald these are by far the best Elektron demos I have head! I am convinced I am buying
a machinedrum! The beat in the second link is so cool sounding, the panning is done
really well too. So, did you make these songs with? I am assuming that you used at
leaste one machinedrum and one monomachine. Did you sequence internally or
externally? Any info on the process would be more than appreciated. thanks.

Mark

Thanx for the reply's. I've got very positive feedback on these. What
I forgot to mention is that these are 100% Live sequenced recordings
with only some multi channel compression.

Ronald.

Gear used for the second track is 1 MnM, 1 MD, 1 Evolver (only playing
the sustained sound in background) and 1 Kaoss pad II for dynamic
reverb. On the first track I also used a laptop with ableton for the
pads, a drum loop and the vocoder sequence at the end.

I used only one pattern on both Elektron's and the tracks were made by
muting, using the joystick and EFX's by mixer fades and aux sends to
the Kaoss Pad II (still the most fun FX unit I know) I alway's use the
internal sequencers since they really do the machine's justice with
their parameter locks wich are the best feature of this gear. It's so
easy to make very dynamic, moving patterns wich make the tracks very
alive.

The amazing thing about the second track is that the MD pattern
contains only one machine: the EFM-BD. Every sound you hear is made
from this single machine; the clap, the hihats, the snare and the
strange basslike notes. This was my contribution to the Oktober MD
contest! You can find the used pattern in the files section in the
oktober machinedrum contest. It can take some time to come up with
really interesting sounds, but if you dig deep enough I guess the
possibilities are endless. Try to discover to power of every
individual machine on the MD by making complete patterns of one
machine. Nils is by my opinion the reall master when it comes to that.

Ronald.

Shit the first track sounded good. Going to put on the second in just
a sec.
