(Fwiw I own every Ae release, duplicates on unopened vinyl, multiple Gescom minidiscs, etc, so whomever has me on their 'most-hated infidel' list, you can take me off now. ;* Whoever said 'burn', that was truly funny.) I was just outlouding about process or patterns or whatever; materializing gear from concepts is the precursor to music making. It's like the same idea gets made, but in different media, with the music being composed of reflections of every logical decision the engineers made while building the gear. Mostly, this is because you can't create something that's isn't creatable, whether it is with a rock and stick or some math that eventually causes your speakers to vibrate. You could say something like the 303 couldn't avoid its destiny because of the decisions it was composed of, despite how it was marketed. Demonstration is not a prerequisite to existence. One could say that things come into existence because there are people willing to pay in order to demonstrate what they can do, but still -- if the hardware doesn't have 'the idea' neither can we show that it does.
