Sequencing

2005-06-02 by deckshuffler

Hi there,
Sorry about this question, I expect it has been asked before but its
so hard to find stuff on this list... I just want to know about
sequencing the MachineDrum using a computer sequencer, can you trigger
whole patterns with midi notes or something like that? I want to jam
on the box and get beats made and then sequence on a computer,
preferably without bouncing to audio for increased flexibility. Again
I apologise but I can't seem to find it in the manual and i want to
get on with writing some songs not just beats!
Best
Theo

heya, theo -

check out page 49 of the os1.12 manual for information on
the map editor:

Pattern trig works as follows: When the MIDI NOTE_ON is
received that corresponds to a pattern trig as defined in
the MAP EDITOR, the pattern chosen will start playing. If
there is a pattern playing already the new pattern will
start immediately and interrupt the previous one. The
pattern will continue until a NOTE_OFF message is received,
IE the key is released. Patterns will always play in full.

operating systems later than os 1.12 allow you to change
patterns with program changes, as well, but let's hope that
that's not permanent ;)
