Sid Drums

2005-06-28 by Dave

I've been trying to get drums on my Sidstation, but I can't really figure it out. I'm using
tables for each part (Kick, snare, HH) for the three oscilators but I can't seem to get decent
attacks. Am i simply overlooking something? Making Sid based music seems a lot harder
than I thought it would be.

The Sidstation is my BEST piece of gear in my studio, but the most complicated to use (and
theirfore underused). Oddly enough my MD is the most Overused piece in my studio...

Maybe i'm expecting something I can't really get. It is all too soft sounding, no good
attacks and they are too long at times.

hard cut is a feature that forces the sids envelopes to remain
closed for a given time after they are triggered. if it is not
configured correctly it can sound like gism. try turning hard cut
off in the system menu. do you have a manual handy? its best to read
this chapter and decide for yourself what sounds best. good luck :)
