>Im a keyboardist, not a computer dork, so Id like a keyboard version of this Have you worked out that a midi controller is a keyboard for digital instruments (Musical Instruments Digital Interface -- note 'Musical'). ? .. got a keyboard? .. does it have a MIDI out? .. You don't need a 'keyboard version' .. it will take midi input from a standard keyboard! You also don't need a computer to do this! >thing. It doesnt have to be 88 keys but maybe 3 octaves would suffice. As >for using the computer and all that bullshit to control it and sequence it.. >that shit sux-you cant play a computer live... I wasn't complaining at all >about the sidstation. I love it. I was just spreading out some ideas... well it's an idea. But if you get a midi controller then you'll basically have what you've described, without the retro casing, which you could make yourself by melting down some c64s. >if you read the reply I can picture you guys sitting infornt of your computers now with a mouse and >the arrow keys turning little knobs (i meanicons) ha ha ha ? ... the computer isn't on. I've got my keyboard going straight into the SIDstation (*MIDI IN*) .. and there's 49 keys. SO you can get that vision out of your head !.. :) AND what's this "Can't play a computer live?" what sort of computer ya got? a c64? ;) Ever seen a realtime software synthesizer ? (Generator? Reaktor?) ... andrew
