c6 receiving from sample manager / backing up roms

2005-09-25 by Edward George

Hi all,

I'm trying to back up my sample roms on my UW [latest OS] using
Elektrons c6 so I can load a new set of samples.
When i try and send all, it transmits only 9k of data (i'm using 51%
of memory over all 32 roms btw) which is interpreted in c6 as an
unknown dump. What's going on here, anyone know if i can receive
samplesin c6 and if it is possible to dump all roms at once as it
suggests in the sample manager?

Anyone know what would be the best way (if this way isn't going to
succeed) of backing up all roms nice and neatly for quickly restoring
at a later date?

thanks
ed

ps. i've just tried sending all to soundforge and that doesn't seem to
work either; soundforge gets a small amount and then keeps waiting for
more whilst the MD has completed as far as it's concerned?!!

Ed,
The MD "send all samples" doesn't work right now. It is a "known bug", and
should be fixed in the next OS update. Try sending individual samples to A6
- it worked for me.

assuming you're sending all samples, and not just one, do
you have the clock send enabled? i've noticed that that can
really muck up some backups when it's on.
