hey,

im currently experimenting with my live setup to make a particular 
idea work. basically, the opportunity to play a weekly gig has come 
up but instead of performing my own material, I will be pretty much 
improvising with a percussionist. setup will be as follows.

i'll be using the machinedrum as my main focus, using pre-
constructed kits and a few patterns optimised for live tweaking. 
within that i'll be muting, changing patterns, tweaking parameters a 
bit etc. I also hope to throw in a few loops using Live, perhaps a 
few processed drum snippets but mostly basslines. the percussionist 
will pretty much just be jamming with me on congas, bongos etc.

the other thing I will be doing (mainly to help in transition 
between kits - which at this point becomes like a dj set) is 
sampling and looping the MD on the fly and while Live loops that, I 
can introduce different sounds from the MD and maybe crossfade.

the reason for this post is to maybe get some feedback on how you 
would approach this kind of thing, do you think I'm heading along 
the right lines? anyone have a lot of experience using a MD and Live 
in a live situation?
