Hi Alex,
From what I gather the MD clock is more stable than Live. I think,
though, that setting the MD as master will also make you start/stop from
the MD rather than Live. Apart from that - what you aim to do should be
achievable. Make a global setup on the MD to work as a midi master as
well - don't ditch your old settings.
About the TRACK delay - I think you should rather work with the global
MIDI delay setting in the options menu. Be sure to make adjustments for
the actual midi port that you've hooked the MD to. I think track delay
is mostly for VSTs rather than hardware (I might be wrong). On my last
computer I fiddled a bit, but now I seem to be pretty much in sync
without any messing with the delay settings.
