Patch Archive

2001-05-30 by noahdano@aol.com

I was wondering what programs people are using to backup their
patches. I have lost my banks twice so far due to a "freeze" and
subsequent restart. I know there were earlier talks of an editor in
the works, but are there better solutions presently available?

I save my patches with my sequencer (logic Audio) and so far there has
been no problem. One advice, as far as my experience goes is NEVER USE
CUBASE for such purpose. Lost a whole bulk with it, hate the soft for
ever now. But I guess some people have it working very well...

Hello,

Sysex dumping in Midi-Ox. Midi-Ox is sexy and I am
pretty sure it's free. Also it lets you monitor all
of the data coming in and out of your ports on the
hex level. Midi-Ox is of course for PC, if you use a
Mac this probably hasn't helped at all.

Or you can try to dump it directly into your sequencer.
It works with my MPC 2000 XL, but I wouldn\ufffdt give a garuantee for something
else.
