canadian import duties etc when ordering from elektron

2006-04-09 by infrequency_recordings

hey there,

to the canadians out there who ordered direct from elektron, what sort of import duties/
taxes did you get hit with? i see that import duties are included in the price for us customers,
but i assume this isn't the case for canada as well.

thx
j.

hi,

quite a while back when I ordered my Machinedrum, I
paid $367.00 CAD to customs upon delivery. I wish
Elektron would mark down the value, though I also
understand why they can't. so it goes, I guess...

I guess if our country actually produced some
electronic gear that was worth buying (besides Modcan
that is), then we wouldn't have to pay through the
nose to import it from elsewhere.

true dat. some companies are quite good at marking the value at the manufacturer parts
cost, which helps quite a bit on the import side.

thanks for the reply.
