Hey what's up all?

Hey what's up all?

2006-09-03 by Akuma Shin

I just got into the "off beat" techno sound like Itoh, Christian
Wunsch, Surgeon... Just wondering if anyone else was into also. Hit me
back.

Surgeon is amazing, I've been enjoying his stuff for years.
Not sure he has any Elektron gear in his setup though...

Sure, but the Surgeon sound is quite different from the Minus sound...

Yeah I seen him only once and after that I was hooked to that sound.
I just got a Machinedrum because I seen Niel Landstum using it and
his set sounded incredible. The Machinedrum is the first piece of
production gear I got too. A guy that I talk to usually at the
parties I attend told me the Machinedrum would be a good starting
point to understand how to create the punch and fatness of those bass
lines... So I bought one. I know this is a Elektron forum, but what
other gear do you think a beginer should start out with to get a
Basic Tonal Vocabulary?

well yes but we were talking about the whole minimal/ techno scene so
i thought i might point that out. sure they sound different but they
fall under roughly the same genre of music.

Hi,

Do you have any links to Surgeon? I'd be interested to check his material out.

Thanks!
