Two MD-UW bugs with the current OS

Two MD-UW bugs with the current OS

2006-09-27 by Robert

Looking for someone to test and verify these with me:

Song Mode
When controlling start/stop with external gear (the Monomachine in my case) Song mode does not reset to the first pattern of the song unless you; cursor to the top of the song on the MD, select it with Enter, press stop, play, then stop. Otherwise it will start from the exact position it was stopped on.

RAM Machines
Here's the scenario: Using RAM R1 and R2 to record the inputs, everything works great. Tweak the P1 or P2 machines to play backwards, and you lose the sample completely. Then you have to set your start and end back to default to get it before it will sound again. However, if you cut and paste the sample into a ROM slot, all is well and it can be mangled without a problem.

Thanks all,
-Robert

Please submit your bugs to the Elektron support page instead of here
on the group.

This will ensure Elektron will see and address these issues.

I can see argument to not have the song mode reset on MIDI stop. It
should reset on a double stop message, but sit where it is on a
single stop... or perhaps always start at reset with a global
preference.

The second one is a PITA.

Thanks,

Damon

actually, its nothing to do with how it handles midi STOP messages. Its
how it chases song position pointer and lines up with the begining of a
track when you press play.

I have not had this problem on other sequencing devices I have used (not
modern ones that support SPP anyway). the MD is the exception.
