you could send the MD midi data to make the lights do that.

A 32 step pattern would let you do that.  That'd be my guess as to  
what he did.

those are just the trigger lights programmed so that they play all 16
lights from 1 to 16 and back to 1 in a 32 step form... not the
sequence-follow lights.

At a certain point the clip doesn't show if the MD is slave to an other sequencer...
