Elektron Musical Instruments

Daniel Hansson, one of the founders of Elektron, died a week ago.
This is so sad, not even 33, and a genius. Elektron IMO are one of the
best musical equipment manufacturers going at the moment, and to lose
one of their leaders is terrible.
As the Elektron site says, he will live on through his (awesome) machines.

This is such sad news. Daniel was a great guy from the little I knew  
him, from this list and talking to him privately a few times before  
buying my MnM. Thank you Daniel for creating a company that was not  
afraid to do their own thing and has birthed one of my favorite  
instruments, the Monomachine. Like previously stated you will live on  
through the machines and the music created with them.

Really sad, he was such a nice guy in what little correspondance I had
with him.  :(

If there is an afterlife hi must be joining bob moog and having a good time.
i didn't knew him personally but he was a very nice guy very interested in helping with 
anything.
he lives in all those amazing synths we all have so lets keep the noise on.

D.H. rules forever

Daniel Hansson was everything I wanted in a guy from "that
side" of the instrument business: friendly, receptive,
open-minded, candid and enthusiastic.  Elektron instruments
changed the way I made music and set impossibly high
standards for everyone else to meet.  I never met Daniel,
but have promised him so many bottles of Carnegie Porter in
return for bug fixes and feature requests, I've lost count.
I regret that I'll never have the chance to make good on
those promises.

My condolences go to Daniel's family and Elektron.  May his
ghost haunt our machines for a long time to come.

This is just sad and tragic. 

I got to know him a little through visits to Gothenburg, and I've only 
got positive things to say about him; nice, honest and dedicated. He 
helped create one of the most forward-thinking and exciting companies 
in the music business.

He will be missed..

I'm sorry to hear he died so young in this way :(
He clearly brought a bit of something special to a lot of musicians, a
shame to lose him to autogeddon :(

Sorry for the late post on this, but i am completely shocked by this
news. I don't own a Machinedrum anymore for a few years now, so i
didn't take interest in this (or any yahoo) group lately.

I met Daniel one time in Tokyo, when he demonstrated the brandnew
Monomachine Keyboard in the five-G Store in Harajuku. We had a coffee
together thenvisited a few gear stores and talked about Synths,
Drummachines and stuff, and the next day he visted at the club where i
had a gig (the Secobar). 

Really nice and cool, clever guy. 

Damn, this is sad.
