Hello!
Just played 2 Songs live only from MD this weekend.
The sound was 100% fat and clear. Thats the most important.
But I discovered some new things the last 3 days.
BUGS
Well, I had 4 Patterns or so. As we know each pattern uses an assigned KIT.
I dont know why, but the assignments were not there anymore about 3 times.
It was assigned to "new kit". So I had to load the kit again.
HARDWARE LIVE TEST
1. The MD looks a bit used already now. I am not the kind of guy that washes
his hands before using his equipment. But you have to be aware that the
MD has even more grip on the surface, and likes to absorb the sweaty dirt
of a club very much. But I dont care too much about used looking gear.
2. The display protection is made of plexi-glass. If you (elektron) have any
chance to change that for your future production, that would be good.
Use Glass. The problem is transport. Also when you really take care of it,
you cant avoid scratches during the time. And the effect is, that heavy
live usage, the baby looks cheap probably.
3. But the MD seems to be sweatproof, and is running also under extreme
conditions.
NEXT OS LIVE WISHES
1. Although I played only 3 patterns, I had some problems to remember which
sound is on which track in MUTE mode. So I felt like: "if I only
knew...maybe its that
extreme noisy sound...If I bring this into the mix now, that would not be
good.
where the f*** is that bell?....shit, I am nervous....ok, I just do it"
---> I was thinking of a preview description. You are e.g. on <Bank
A><Pattern1>
and you want to know what sound is on <track5 LT>. Because its
probably no
Low Tom anymore because you made it into an apocalyptic noise. So it
would
be very usefull if you can press for example [shift][track5] and it
shows
"apocalyptic noise!!", because you named that track5 like that in some
way before.
2.-> and please, to mention it a 2nd time: please remove the aditional Mute
Display,
when you are in mute-mode. There are more important things to see in
the
background!
3. If you have some time left (jokin), it would be cool to include a small
Midi-
sequencing mode. Just simple. That you can use the last three Tracks for
Midi Instruments. That would be so cool. Think of this: the Midi instrument
is triggered just like the internal sounds on the 16 steps. The Pitch is
determined by the "pitch" in the
display, just like the internal sound.
all the best
Splank!
