sync; effects box.

sync; effects box.

2001-08-06 by Jason Vernon Starnes

Hey all.
I'm having the same troubles with midi sync: the MD is rock solid when it is the master,
but it drifts when slaved.
Last night I began to explore the potential of the input machines. Incredible! The MD
synced a sampler running loops that are trigged by the MD's drum buttons. Then started
tweaking the filters and pans and ring mods and delays, recording locks for each of the
input tracks. Before I even sequenced anything with the MD's own sounds, this loop was
transformed! The sound is so crisp, these filters and delays and reverbs are so good I
would buy the MD again just as an effects box. Anyone else experimenting with the ins?

cheers,
Jason

This is one of my favorite features. I'm currently
running my sidstation through one audio input and a
casio pt-100 through the other (old old old circa 1981
keyboard/kid's toy) and the sound is amazing.

Yeah I've been running my Devilfish modded 303 through MD for the
last couple of days. As weird as the Devilfish is on its own things
just get stranger and stranger piped through the MD. Its just
amazing.

Im syncing the 303 to the MD via a Kenton Pro 2 so im going to try
out controlling some of the Devilfish parameters from the MD also.

A couple of queries also:

Am I missing something or is there no Solo function on the MD.
Also would anyone else like to see the scale steps go down to 1 and
not stop at 2? I actually thought this was a bug but it isnt
apparently.
