my md has knob problems as well. it seems as if the front panel is on
crooked and the knobs are harder and harder to push in going from left to
right. the right most knob does not push in.

i'm considering sending it in now that you guys say that it's so easy to do.
anyone else have this problem?

aaron,

try pulling off the problem knobs (carefully!) and then put them back on,
but don't push them on as far, leaving room for them to be pushed down...
worked for my MD.

Of course if you aren't comfortable doing that, elektron should be able to
fix it easily.

cheers

I just had the experience that when playing with sweaty fingers on stage,
it was hard to turn the knobs.

MD kit assign lost

2001-08-26 by splank!

Hello!

It happens to me very often that suddenly a pattern/sequence has lost
the assignet KIT. It says "new kit" then, and no sound comes out.
when I want to load the original kit then, the cursor is on
KIT 42 --empty--
or something like that.
That\ufffds quite annoying when you are on stage, you want to start a sequence
and nothing comes out. You stand there trying to remember what KIT you used
for that pattern...it mostly happend to me after moving the MD to another
place.

They do look like they'd be a standard swapout with whatever knobs you
like...they just gotta be kinda small..

p.s. isn't the EFM HH the craziest sound? I swear I get country western
music twanging guitar out of it....turn the feedback down low...and the
tremelo down low...I love it!

don't forget about my pitches page....

Agreed, I have sweaty hands half of the time and I also think the knobs
should be "curved".

SID Tracks (self-promotion)

2001-09-01 by Eric Weik

Hi all,

http://www.mp3.com/circumjacence

It took me two years to actually get around to this, but I've finally put
up a DAM CD on mp3.com which features our friend the SIDstation in every
track. There is also a smattering of 6581 sounds from an SX64 (using
Rockmonitor and a homebrew sequencer), some K5000 patches built around a
formant simulation of the SID's bandbass filter, and a bunch of drums, bass
loops, and pads and other "lush" sounds that were run through the filter
input on the SIDstation.

Anyhow, some SIDstation appearances are more obvious than others, but for
those that are interested, here is a list of the most obvious ones:

Cumulus: SID tables and sampled bits, acoustic guitar, Paraguayan
harp, breaks, and other assorted electronic toys. Ok, so the SID is sort
of in the background in this one, but it is a fun juxtaposition with the
acoustic instruments IMHO. :-)

Cirrus: SID tables, samples of SID tables and noises, SID bass samples
layered with other bass samples, cheesy piano (not the SID), lofi breaks,
etc.

Altostratus: Layers of SID tables, SID ambience, etc. with a little
d'n'b influence.

Stratus: SID tables, SID sync lead, breaks, and lots of ambience and
pads.

Cirrostratus: SID with melodic and industrial flavors..

Enjoy,
Eric
