midi thru boo hoo

Someone please tell me I´m an idiot and I just have to enable midi thru in some menu to get it working. I´ve been through every menu a million times and damn sure theres nothing for midi thru. I´v come to the sad conclusion that its dead on my machine. Someone please rescue me. Ive got a really simple set up and dont want to have to spend extra cash on a midi router.
