Hi, >The only >problem I see with the M.D. is people say it can't make kick's like >the tr-909, or hat's either. So how would you say the M.D.'s kick's >and hat's sound over a club filled with speaker's, would you say it >sound's digital, like electro music or can it have the warmth of >techno kick's. Is there depth in the M.D.'s kick's > Depth in a kick? How would you define depth in a kick? :-))) Anyway, the MD's bassdrum is very nice. There are many different models. I like the newest bassdrum model the most. It's no TR909, but it can sound phatter and deeper. It sounds different though. If you want real TR909, then either get yourself a TR909 or some good sample CD's. >and if not can't >you process the M.D's kick's through something to give it some anolog >warmth, like a sherman filterbank2 or some anolog effect box. > Sure, you can always do that. There are also enough internal effects to provide additional power. >I do >want new drum sound's, but it would be nice to have the standerd 909 >sound also when needed. Or Whould you sugjest getting a jomox xbase09 >to cover the 909 sound's. > I have an XBase as well, and even though I love it as much as the MD, the XBase is no 909 either. As I said: if you want TR909, there's only the original. XBase and MD can't be compared. I'm glad to own both because they really don't have any "sonic overlaps" imo. I personally think the MD lacks raw sounding hihats that cut through the mix, and that's one of the things where the XBase excells. The bassdrum of both machines sound completely different as well, as does the distortion. >Ah 1 more question, does any body use there >M.D. with a Waldorf micro Q keyboard, if so do they make a good team. > I've had a microQ (not keyboard) over here some weeks ago. Goes well with the MD. Cheers, Joeri -- Joeri Vankeirsbilck joeri@... Belway Productions - http://www.belway.com List-admin Logic-users/SoundD*ver-users/Logic-TDM
