Just came across this... http://www.creativesynth.com/reviews/038_MachineDrum/rev_machinedrum.html

That is just f34r4bl3... Not even a mention to how that baby sounds... (*) Wow, that's what I call reviewing musical gear :) Anyway, I'm in love with the externals and the ergonomics as well I guess the author (who is on this list I believe) is writing the remaining parts at the moment. Xavier. (*) or maybe I had my one and only neuron too busy to find a link to the rest of the review. By the way, I had just purchased a Jomox Airbase 99 before hearing of the machinedrum... I got the MD and never switched the Jomox again. Am I the only one on this list ? (and yes Mr. W. Brent Latta I am deeply struck with what you call the GAS = Gear Acquisition Syndrom :) !) --- In elektron-users@y..., "M-.-n" <nostromo@a...> wrote: > Just came across this... > > http://www.creativesynth.com/reviews/038_MachineDrum/rev_machinedrum.h tml

I have an XBase and a Machinedrum and use both extensively. Imo both devices don't overlap at all. I love them both and couldn't miss either one. If you don't switch on your Airbase anymore, feel free to ship it to me. ;-)))) Cheers, Joeri -- Joeri Vankeirsbilck joeri@... I also do believe they don't overlap. It's just that the MD is more of an all-in-one or self-usable piece of gear. Sometimes, instead of switching my gear on, I just grab a pair of headphones and start playing with the MD. Booting the computer and sequencing the Airbase is not that straightforward. But your post made me realize that I nerver thought about sequencing the Airbase with the MD.. Airbase !! Time to wake up ! Yes. It is going to be probably a 3 part review, with some basic tutorials to follow. It was going to be a secret, but I guess the cat's out of the bag for you guys! ;) Apparently the review is getting quite a few hits, which is great. The more traffic to the website the better. That way I keep getting cool software and stuff to review. (Although I actually bought the MD and offered to review it because I love it so much.) Next on tap is a review and tutorials on NI Absynth...I'm pretty excited about that one. -b _______________________________________________ W. Brent Latta :-: wbl@... I couldn't piece it out... f34r4bl3 means fearable, I don't even know whether this exists in english or not. This was meant to tell you that your review awoke fear in me (just joking of course). The way it was spelled is due to overuse of elite spelling (aka leet or 133+) in which mixed case is used a lot as well as replacing characters by other symbols having more or less the same shape. Then "e" can be "3", "l" can be "1", "g" can be "9", "s" can be either "$" or "5", "t" can be "+" and so on. Your imagination is the limit. If you've heard about the old computer trojan "Back Orifice" : it used port 31337 (to be read eleet = elite). So f34r mY 3v1L |_33+N3$$ :) But I just listened to Gavity from your Indicator EP, You're l33+ +00. (just found it a bit burbly at one moment with the effects on the voice and the filter + delay on the bass) : you don't seem to be affected by the GLUS (Gear left unused syndrom) which is particularly shameful when associated with the GAS :) Xavier. (yes french people are that strange)
