Actually, if you have a midi keyboard connected, Elektron have done a really great job at laying out the controller. The lower part of the keyboard triggers individual drum sounds, and the upper part triggers patterns. Hold down a key to trigger a pattern, and you can still play individual drums along with it from your keyboard. Very well thought out.
