Machinedrum: Computer program to make new sounds!!!

Machinedrum: Computer program to make new sounds!!!

2002-06-27 by sidstationownsyou

Hi everybody! I'm currently writing an application for Mac OS X that
will let
Machinedrum users randomize the parameters of a given machine, thus
allowing for the creation of totally random soundz! I'm planning on
including
other features like the ability to save a set of parameters (a drum
sound) as a
file on your computer, and an interface for setting parameter locks.
I'm just
wondering how many Machinedrum users out there use Mac OS X, and
whether you'd be intrested in such a program (it would be freeware,
of
course).
PLEASE vote on the Poll I created!!!
That way I can find out if anyone would actually use my program :)

Here's the latest screenshot of my program:

I'm using a combination of sysex and control change messages for
communication between my program and machinedrum.

oh... wait... did you mean the sysex kit dumps in the Files section? If so, then
no. My program is WAY more than just way to transfer sysex files between
machinedrum and your computer. My program is for actually making NEW
sounds and building kits with those sounds!
If you want a really good (free) application for Mac OS X that is simply
concerned with sysex file transfers and archiving, check out
www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/
I use SysExLibrian for archiving all my sysex files. It's a really sweet design,
and the guy wrote it gave me some excellent tips on writing MIDI software for
Mac OS X.
