Possible MD Bug...?

Possible MD Bug...?

2002-07-08 by W. Brent Latta

When the MD is acting as the master clock with an external device (in this
case a FR777), the MD exhibits a strange behavior:

When playing back a pattern I press PLAY and RECORD simultaneously to put
the MD in "real time record mode". The MD continues playing its pattern
back uninterrupted, however as soon as I press these buttons, it sends a
sync signal out that resets the FR777's pattern to the first step. This
basically makes it impossible to use the MD as a master clock for external
devices AND use real-time record mode in a live situation (at the same
time)...

Anyone have any thoughts?

yeah, the MD is KILLER when used with an FR777.

put the fr into the md input, put a trig square wave LFO on the pan,
send it to the delay with medium mono and fdbk. use a few
param locks to trip up the sequence. also, i like the adjustable
loop length on the FR. I like setting to to 8, 4,3,2 or even just
*1* step long and tweaking the gain into the filter. sometimes
it just gets too loud for the other md sounds so i put a separate
compressor between the fr and the md input.
