Cubase SX sync

Cubase SX sync

Salud!

Do you know if it is possible to sync the MD as master and SX as slave. I've
tried, to no avail, and the manual seems to suggest it's not possible to use
MIDI clock as a sync source for SX.

Although I don't have SX (yet!), I don't see where there should be a
problem with this, as previous versions of Cubase have responded to MTC
(Midi Time Code) just fine. It would be just plain weird to hamstring SX
in that manner.

Make certain you're not getting this mixed up with VST System Link, which
is solely for synchronizing one computer running SX with another computer
running SX (and, from what I understand, requires a SPDIF, TDIF, ADAT, or
AES interface through which to communicate). You should not need System
Link to simply sync your MD to SX.

Otherwise, I would imagine you should be able to set up SX as a slave to
MTC in pretty much the same manner that you can sync it to SMPTE. Make
certain that your MD is indeed transmitting MTC, and that there aren't any
filters within Cubase stripping it out. Otherwise, I'll let you know for
certain once I pick up a copy of SX. :)
