Elektron Musical Instruments

I'm about to get my MD.  I'm in South Korea.  In fact the MD is at the
fedex here in Seoul.  I had to pay about $200 (20%?) in taxes for them
to release it from customs.  Fucking MD's held hostage.  Man, I have
been pissed.  Well, I know I will get it tomorrow.  I hope the $1300
has been worth it...  I'm burning with anger.  Did anyone have to pay
any taxes or duties anywhere for any equipment ordered?

I'm pretty sure everyone outside of Sweden paid some sort of
import duty, though %20 is pretty steep. But hey, let's hear it
for protected markets. Suprised you couldn't find a knock-off
down the street ;P

& don't doubt that the dough is worth it. Even if you get tired
of the 'elektro' sound of the thing, you'll revel in using the MD
to sequence your sampler or synths.

yea my sid was stuck in customs in the US cuz elektron didn't include all
the necessary paperwork, and then fedex wanted me to pay customs (if i
remember correctly it was like $60). But for some reason the problem
disappeared, i think elektron may have picked up the tab cuz i had so many
problems with my order. If so i thank them lots, and will be buying a
machine drum eventually (when i have the spare cash, and some more of those
bugs that i read about here get straitened out :)

On a side note, I need an audio/midi interface for my power mac that i got a
little wile ago. Any suggestions ? Also it has to work in osx. I was looking
at that midiman usb quattro.
