Can someone please help me?

Can someone please help me?

2002-10-11 by bachypham

I am quite unfamiliar with sysex, but have been using midi-ox for
saving my data with my MD. I have only been saving one to two
kits+patterns at a time... when my MD sends more messages than four
or so, the bits recieved by midi-ox start escalating extremely fast.
Is this normal? Does anyone sysex dump songs? It seems that it
would take me too long to wait for my computer to recognize... or
load.. or whatever it is that it is doing. I played with the buffer
settings (a lot), but that didn't help. What should I have it set
at? I also shut off the delay also. I guess that I can just keep
saving only small files... but it seems inefficient. Now my real
problem came about when I tried to upgrade my OS. It took midi-ox
half an hour to load the sysex file... is that normal? Well anyhow,
I tried many times to send it to my machinedrum like the instructions
tell me... but my MD isn't responding. The LED's don't light up like
they are suppose to. The screen says that it is waiting for the MIDI
upgrade and everything is hooked up properly. Midi-ox is sending the
sysex and it takes ten minutes... but nothing. I am extremely
frustrated and would appreciate any help. Thank you for reading my
long winded post.
peace.

MD triggering Sidstation

Hello!

Anybody has a MD and a Sidstation?
I was trying to Sequence the Sidstation with the MD,
and it always crashes when I turn some knobs on the MD....

Strange behaviour...
I have been sequencing the Sidstation with my MD with no problem.
I had set up the MIDI machine playing the bassline on channel 16.
This way I guess I avoided any additional data sent by the MD when
turning the knobs related to other machines.
It might well be that the Sidstation doesn't like this additional
data. Maybe it has something to do with the Sidstation receiving all
channels (Omni mode) but I don't remember if this can be changed (I
don't have the manual right now).

Hope this helps.

Keep on making good music Flo !

Xavier.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
