some ppl should look at the rack alternative to some synths (like the DX7
for example) .. you'll find these versions sometimes have more power, more
outputs. . and more generally! :)

we must understand elektron have only just begun, and have put much time,
energy and R&D (& money!) into the sidstation.. they haven't exactly been
around since the 70s! ;) (which is why we get such a wonderful, unique
machine!~ i doubt any 'established' music tech company would work on
something so damn cool -- look at roland with their shitty 'gottasell'
groove box crapola!~). I'm having strange dreams about the next project..
man what could it be? :)

oh and a note of warning for other Australian customers (who shouldn't have
to worry as there's to be an australian distributor soon i think) --- the
"painters and dockers" or "wharfies" here are absolute assholes. I've heard
many stories about them --- walking on the roofs of imported cars (before
they put them in containers) .. smashing things deliberately ,and being
generally careless. They have a long history of this sort of crap, no chance
of doing anything about it either, they're mafia unionist types (unless i go
down there with a flamethrower-- hrm).

So if you're going to import SIDstation into Australia *DO NOT SHIP IT* ---
get it on a plane! i've got send mine back because of some mis-treatment,
and it's not DHL, it's these bastards. I should have known this before i did
it, but there's proof -- my box was squashed and the sid is mis-behaving.

Hello Andrew and Joeri!

I dont want a DX7! And I dont want no 1000 Boxes.
Because Im no Rockn Roll-band with a Tourbus. (Sfortunately)

But Joeri - I understand, thats too expensive.
I looked at it, and saw that It would be not that easy.
You would have build it up completely different.
But maybe in 5 years.....as birthday edition? :)

Thanx
Splank!

If you're doing live gigs, then I'd recommend a solid case anyway.
Preferrably one that can be locked!

It could indeed be quite expensive... but then touring and live performances
are always very expensive when it comes to investments.

PS: still didn't find the time to compare my SID presets to those other SID
chips... I'll try to do that soon. :)

Ciao,
Joeri
