We can not afford to >split up on several different models. some ppl should look at the rack alternative to some synths (like the DX7 for example) .. you'll find these versions sometimes have more power, more outputs. . and more generally! :) we must understand elektron have only just begun, and have put much time, energy and R&D (& money!) into the sidstation.. they haven't exactly been around since the 70s! ;) (which is why we get such a wonderful, unique machine!~ i doubt any 'established' music tech company would work on something so damn cool -- look at roland with their shitty 'gottasell' groove box crapola!~). I'm having strange dreams about the next project.. man what could it be? :) __________________________ oh and a note of warning for other Australian customers (who shouldn't have to worry as there's to be an australian distributor soon i think) --- the "painters and dockers" or "wharfies" here are absolute assholes. I've heard many stories about them --- walking on the roofs of imported cars (before they put them in containers) .. smashing things deliberately ,and being generally careless. They have a long history of this sort of crap, no chance of doing anything about it either, they're mafia unionist types (unless i go down there with a flamethrower-- hrm). So if you're going to import SIDstation into Australia *DO NOT SHIP IT* --- get it on a plane! i've got send mine back because of some mis-treatment, and it's not DHL, it's these bastards. I should have known this before i did it, but there's proof -- my box was squashed and the sid is mis-behaving. andrew
