parameter locks and note events

parameter locks and note events

2002-11-24 by bachypham

Wouldn't it be great if parameter locks could be made on a track
where no note was being played. I already use this feature when I
use an external synth through input a/b. The sustain of the internal
sounds could totally be freaked out!! Imagine this feature in
conjunction with assigning "slide" per track... you would be able to
create the most insane melodic lines creating your own LFO!!!
affecting anything you desire... but you would be able to
maintain "clean" (or non-sliding) parameter changes anywhere else,
I've got to sit down... I'm getting dizzy. The types of LFO's
wouldn't be actual LFO's (of course)... they'd be better. You could
create a sine wave that turns into a saw right in the middle
(remember, I'm talking about a sustained sound being affected by ANY
paramter changes without retriggering the sound).

Someone please let Elektron know, I think that I have been annoying
them too much already

Oh yeah...
Someone please buy my SH3, I really really want a Sidstation. I
would prefer selling it here because I seem to trust everyone.

Just a few thoughts....

That really sounds tempting... But how would you implement it? For
example: it would be really hard to delete these locks if you (in a
worst case scenario) had to go through all the steps on all machines
to find that one annoying filter sweep! You would have to separate
the lock programming from the rest of the sequencing, but then it
would be less intuitive to use lock programming if you had to change
mode all the time.
