Re: [elektron] Live Setup

just got home from a live gig, MD + nordmodular. It rocks. Compact and very very powerful. sequence the NM from the MD or just put a sequencer module in the patch and get all sorts of weirdness.

you could actually do without the mixer. route the NM into the MD and use it´s delay and reverb.

cheers,

Some artists still put all their hope in their machines... and think that
all the talent has to come from them.
Well, ok in terms of sound experience but...

Well, MD rocks...

Of course this sentiment is hogwash. But when it comes to forking out >
$1000 per box, I know I'm going to know what I'm getting into. The MD + NM
setup is, in fact, one of the frontrunning combinations I have considered.

Hi Scott,
I've done a couple of gigs with just a Machinedrum, an EFX 500, and a
TB303... This simple setup made the crowd go wild for about half an
hour non-stop! It all sounded quite raw & unpolished, but it is an
ideal live-setup because it leaves real room for improvisation...
Cheers,
Marten

I love boxes that have onboard sequencers, and can be programmed directly.
After coding 8 hours a day, I don't relish the idea of making music on a
computer. I think raw and unpolished can be good, and long as you are
rocking the house and in the moment.

Ohhhh yeah i totaly agree with watt you are saying...
It's not always easy to make a choice when considering to buy only one
instrument for a task.

After hearing Odegaard's demosi, I am amazed at what MD can do. I think with
enough work, someone could perform a great set with just the MD.

It is certainly not out of the question to do a Live
set using only the MachineDrum. Right now for my live
set-up I'm only using a Machine-Drum, a Quasimidi
Polymorph, an Electrix vocoder and a Mackie DFX-6
mixer. I had more equipment before (Sp-808 groove
sampler, Roland PMA-5 through a Waldorf mini-works
filter, circuit bent tr-606 and a R8 mkII) but I
realized I really needed less when I got the
MachineDrum.

I think the secret is to find one box that really arracts you and then
programming the sh*t out of it. If it's got the depth, you can find the
sounds. Machinedrum seems like it's got the depth.

I'm selling my 777 if anyone's interested. It's in the same condition as the
day I bought it half a year ago, never left the house, neve been smoked over.
I don't have space for it anymore.

I'd like to keep my kit as compact as possible, so it's easy to set up and
