I got the wrong adapter when I ordered my sidstation, I tried another (wich fitted the spec), but screen went black, all the diods where on, and it only outputed a 60hz buzz, I thought the sidstation was broken, but the elektron guys told me that sidstation was sensitive about the adapter, and sent me a new one. Havn't had any onre problems since I got the new one.

Maby the MD is just as sensitive!

voltage converters with the md..

hmmm, i also worry that this might be the case. i am just wondering 
why all my other stuff works with that voltage converter.

it seems they have another voltage converter in the venue i will be 
playing tomorrow, so there is still a chance it will work.

 i didnt have problems before when using the md with voltage 
converters. but those were more "big". the one i am using now can 
convert up to 85 watt, which should have been enough, since the md is 
just using 15 to 20 watt, if i remember the documentation correctly. 

this behaviour is kind of disappointing to me. i have to rely on my 
equipment while being on tour, and i cannot afford travelling with a 
choosy "Princess".*grin*

anyway, does somebody know what kind of specs a power adapter unit 
needs, thats able to power up the md. maybe i can buy a japanese one 
here, and use it.

I use one here in Korea.  But, my situation is the opposite.  You
probably want one of those large converters.  I know they are heavy,
mine put a hole in my elektron box and it didn't even fall on it-it
was placed on the box.  Luckily nothing was broke.  It is actually
heavier than my MD, mixer, and fatman combined, but only the size of
about 6 DVD cases stacked up.  I'll never walk around Seoul with that
again.

  Someone should have one.  You should be able to borrow one.  Well, I
don't think there are that many Korean products bought in Japan.  Mine
is a 110 to 220, 1000va(watt?), 60Hz, 9.1Amp(?).  I'm not sure what it
all means...Gotta use a dictionary.  I just run all my 110 gear from
it even my laptop.  The thing makes the strangest hum when I turn it on.

I just remember I have a converter in the US (110->220).  But it has
the plug for Korean which is two small rods about 3cm apart.  It cost
me about 1000-1500 yen.  I'm not sure what the plug you have for your
MD looks like.  Can you show me a picture or a link to a picture of
the plug?  It's German right?

Other than that where are you in Japan?  I know Osaka.  Where have you
been and where are you going?  Really cold there, right?  They don't
even have heated floors!  My feet are nice and warm right now, ahh...
 How are your hosts treating you?  Hope you got a nice guest house.  I
should be there in Jan. or Feb.
