Totally agree! But, if possible, record some mp3s demonstrating the
sounds! Just let us hear what has been done to the poor MD! :-D

Well, I might have been a bit unclear. :)

What I meant was this. Instead of giving all of us the sysexdumps for
the sounds, just give us some examples for us to listen to. Preferably
in mp3 format then.

My computer that I have used for recording has been broken since May... :(

Hi,

Anyone who feels that sharing their hard work is somehow a bad idea should consider the following....

If you have a good 909 sound, why not share it, as it's too easy to get the original samples anyway, so you lose nothing..

In a sharing culture, everyone benefits and everyone who can contributes... what a nice idea =0)

If you think that wont work, have a look at the Nord Modular mailing list... It can be done!!

As a side issue... it seems really odd that anyone can say they can't get good hats from this box. There are several starting points for cymbals, and experimentation with these provides a wide range of sounds. It is a sad world where everyone gets locked into the same sounds, thinking that there is no alternative. The 909 kick and hats rock a dance floor (or used to..?), but there is a huge world of music (dance or otherwise) where the 909 is not used, and the beats still kick ass! My own view is that the almost religious dedication to the slowly rotting past of dance music is infecting the present and helping a once vibrant genre to poison itself by auto-cannibalism.

Having said all that, I'd still like to see the 909 hats in the MD, just because studio clients always ask for them...

Peace and love to all this Christmas
