Senseless LED

Senseless LED

2000-05-02 by sid_6581@yahoo.com

Some weeks ago I opened my SidStation for the first time.

On the mainboard I saw something and I´m still wondering:
There is a red LED and I have no idea why it is there.
It is not connected (optical) to anything.
For what´s this???
I mean it can´t be there just for fun.

Have you noticed the printing on the circuit board next to it?

As I recall we named it "pointless". It's not really totally pointless as
it is usefull to check if the mainboard is powered properly. And it is
cool to know that there is a "pointless" red LED glowing inside all
machines at all time! :)
