went off with a buzz and cant switch it on anymore. No lights no sound I already programmed 34 patterns. I hope they will survive a repair. Not really a sign of good quality.......:-( Hans

this actually happened to me twice.. i got a bad machinedrum about a month ago.. it had the blown fuse, it died after about 5 minutes. i sent it back right as musikmesse began so no one was at elektron to fix it.. anyway, i got a new one back 3 weeks later, had it for a day, then IT broke.. they havent told me what the problem with the new one was yet but it died the same way the other one did. BZZZZT then nothing. at least i got to use it for a little bit before it broke. so i sent it back to them last monday, i juswt got a mail from them that they had shipped out another new one today so i should get it wednesday. lets hope the third times a charm, because so far this really sucks. yes they cover all shipping charges and they have kept in contact with me the whole time but ive had to wait over a month to get the thing so far and im not very confident that this third one is going to last. i havent heard too many complaints about reliability so its probably just my terrible luck but it sucks regardless.. good luck

A lithium battery must be (I haven't looked inside a MD so can't be sure) there to secure thing for years (but as some have unfortunately pointed out already, sysex dump IS A MUST DO regularly) > Not really a sign of good quality.......:-( The company building it for them should hide in a dark corner and get lost Denis U] ================================================ lepetitmartien M.I.C. http://www.macmusic.org

I do NOT mean to turn this around, but just to safe when you get your 3rd one hook it up to a UPS or a line conditioner before you turn it on (or try it a friend's place). Others have reported the fuse problem, but this kind of thing is often related to bad quality electrical power. --- jupitersounds <reactor303@...> wrote: > this actually happened to me twice.. i got a bad > machinedrum about a > month ago.. it had the blown fuse, it died after > about 5 minutes. i > sent it back right as musikmesse began so no one was > at elektron to > fix it.. anyway, i got a new one back 3 weeks later, > had it for a > day, then IT broke.. they havent told me what the > problem with the > new one was yet but it died the same way the other > one did.
