Elektron Musical Instruments

hello there. i am a midi novice, and just purchased my first 
sidstation, used. it came with none of the factory patches, only ones 
made by previous owners. i would like to download the factory patches 
from the website and get them into the sid. i wrote to elektron 
support, but they have not responded yet.

my relevant gear: sid. mac os9.2 internet explorer, motu 8x8 midi 
box, buncha midi cables.

first problem encountered, is that when i download the file they give 
on the website, nothing downloads. it opens another page with a text 
file of all the patch descriptions, but no file.

does someone have the actual patch files that i could get from them? 
does anyone have any experience in loading patches? 

eventually i will program my own patches but i have to get used to 
this very new machine, and how it fuctions first. i am very exited to 
be making noises with it soon.

What link are you clicking on? For sysex data try this:
http://www.sidstation.com/files/SidStation_Presets_r1.syx

For the midi file containing the same data try this:
http://www.sidstation.com/files/SidStation_Presets_r1.mid

Either the sysex or the midi file should be used to transfer the
original presets into the Sidstation.

If you do no know how to use the sysex data, then read page 32 in the
Sidstation manual. Download the manual from here:
http://www.sidstation.com/files/SidStation_Ownersmanual_OS1.1.pdf

The midi file should be loaded and played in a sequencer program of
your choice on your Mac.
