Elektron Musical Instruments

Must the MD always receive midi on 4 channels?
The options in the Global menu appear to be channels 1-4, 2-5, 3-6, 
etc....
Am I mistaken or missing something?

Can it not be set up to receive on 1 channel only?
I know this would restrict the control of parameters but it would 
mean that the MD wouldn't always have to use 4 channels in your set 
up.

It always uses four.  You can't change this.  Many people set it at 13-16.
