I had a couple of AKAI's and hated them. Now I use only softsamplers - at
least I can see what I do now. But as a hardware sampler I simply *love* my
Korg ES-1. It's extremely simple, extremely easy to use, and the included
X0X sequencer kicks some serious ass!

I'm glad you liked staying here.
Yes, Siena is one of the most beautiful places in the world, but I have
to say that it's not really at the centre of it...
I mean, it's really glued to its history and won't ever make a step
further.
That can be limiting for someone who is trying to sell Machinedrums to
everyone ;-) (I'm an elektron sales representative)

Yeah, when I think Siena I don't exactly think "pulsating hub of the European

Sweden and try selling Italian products there ;->

For those of you who might not know, Cikira is a true
pioneer of electronic music and synthetizers, and is
buddy-buddy with Bob Moog, amongst others.
Hey Cikira, you have a Machinedrum? What do you think
about it?
By the way, I'm from Puerto Rico, although I've beem
living in NYC for 2 years.

I would have liked the track much better without the
vocal part, just as an instrumental. the vocals kind
of ruined it for me. other than that, nicely
programmed patterns on the MD... I think I can tell
which parts are Sid, but could you clarify?

The vocal MAKES the whole track for me :-)
That's an acapella that I have slightly changed, it comes from Markus
Enochson: Musical Prayer.
Sid is used as an efx bass, a little bit every 4 bars (if I'm not
wrong...)
Should be easily recognizable for its unique dirt filter :-)
every other synth is from Logic plug-ins, percussions are from a Roland
R70.

Congratulations! :)

Quite simple, I didn't use it. To me the lag of approx 20 milliseconds
made it quite unusable. Why? I only use hardware sequencers, which
makes it hard to compensate for that (at least with the sequencers I
have).
Soundwise it it fantastic, but takes a while to get use to the
programming. At least if you don't use a computer to edit it.
/Janne

I shall be controlling it from Cubase, so i can always give it a 20ms headstart - is the lag that bad? i thought it was more like 6ms?

Quite simple, I didn't use it. To me the lag of approx 20 milliseconds
made it quite unusable. Why? I only use hardware sequencers, which
makes it hard to compensate for that (at least with the sequencers I
have).
Soundwise it it fantastic, but takes a while to get use to the
programming. At least if you don't use a computer to edit it.

You can set the lag as you like, even to 0 if you use the software
envelopes.
That's well explained in the manual, much better than I could :-)
