Sidstation

Sidstation

2003-08-20 by Cosmic Trance

Yeah! Why not bring the sidstation topics to live! I own some very neat
synths, but after the first place (my Virus-B) comes the Sidstation! I
bought the behringer virtualizer pro (effectsprocessor) especially for the
station. I love it when I hear the old C64 lead sounds, especially when
routed trough some long-feedback delays. It makes the sound so fat that it
allmost only needs some rithms to create a complete song! :) The only
negative thing about it is that somehow the powerconnection between sid and
adapter is not optimal, and when it looses power just for a second, all my
patches are gone. Too bad, but that's just a matter of backuping now and
then. Maybe I'll fix it for myself once. Anyway, Hurray for MOS6581 !! :-)

Forget all the b#llsh#t about the MD and MM... Go for the SID!

I quote myself:
"This is a wicked piece of equipment. The last time I've seen a machine
that surprised me like this one, was the Roland TB-303. Immediately after
hearing a sound from the SIDStation you will get a nice feeling of being
young. You even forget the noise levels on the outputs and the little delay
on the notes is taken for granted. Modern sequencers and a gate limiter can
bypass these flaws. Make sure you touch a SIDStation at least once in your
life. It's a remarkable machine!"

I use the SIDstation between 100% pure analogue power!

BTW: I hope Elektron will never promise an OS update, because synths should
be cool without the features of promised future OS updates.

i had a sherman filterbank2 for some month and i just want to say
that using the sidstation in combination with the fbank is like
having nuclear weapons. noone can beat this setup ;) well i had to
sell my fb cuz of money - but i did some good tracks and samples with
it.
actually electron promised updates but i gues they don´t do it even
the mm is not finished yet.. i think they need some more workers.. my
update wish would be for example.. that the arpeggio can trigger
external gear.. and of course that the sidstation can speak.. oh and
importing userwaveforms...haha ;)phono

I have the same FB2 / Sid combo going and I have to agree. My only question is HOW IN GOD'S
NAME COULD YOU SELL YOUR SHERMAN? ARE YOU ON CRACK, MAN?!?

*ahem* Sorry 'bout that- I can't help myself. Do you have any clips of the combo? I'm curious to
hear how other people choose to destroy their speakers.

We are also using the SID in combination with a Sherman FB.. :)
The first Sherman FB-1 !

Sometimes we're just using a BOSS MT-1 behind it as well! :)

Everybody with a SID should have at least one of those two. :)

hee.. nice to see that people do it same way) and ,no, i am not on
crack - just workless ;)another reason was, that i live in basement
and sherman don´t like smokey and dirty basement in it´s analog
circuits.... so i decided to sell it before it starts to get a piece
of crap. maybee get me one for cheap, again?
