Mini Mono Demo

Hej! I have Just returned from a trip to Sweden. So thought it would be rude not to pop into Elektron and say hello while i was visiting a friend in Goteborg. The guys were very welcoming and the office very relaxed. Daniel spent the best part of 1 1/2 hours demonstrating the MM to me, fielding my inane questions and discovering the odd bug. So what do i reckon? Well I ordered one the other night when I came home from the pub. So that kinda says something. As Daniel has said on this user group, at this beta stage the MM doesn't have any presets sounds, so I wasn't wowed by any crazy "Phat Analogue Space Panpipe pad" but the MM's appears to have MD's ability to radically alter its seemingly enormous sonic palette. As the demo was a bit of a blur I will give you some vague highlights. The sequencer appears to be very very powerful. The MID machines now have the ability to play chords. Great user interface just like the MD. The VO synth sounds great especially in conjunction with the Joystick. With the ability to create breathy vowels and very harsh consonants. It sounded very "kraftwerkian" but i'm sure u would be able to get more "natural" out of it. The SID station sounds great but doesn't have anything as much character as the real thing, so it certainly won't make the noisy SIDStation redundent. The Wave synth sounded very interesting (its what i like playing with the most in the SID). Its has some kind of granular mixer thing that blend between each step. The sonic possibilities are mind boggling!! The Joystick can be assigned to any parameter. It crys out to be played live. I will post some more comments when I have time, but by which point everyone who has ordered the Beta version will be exploring it themselves. P.S. Daniel and Elektron thanks so much for being so welcoming and generous with your time at such sort notice. I hope I helped in some way. Goteborg Rocks!
