note that the weight of the package is 8 kgs (17.6 lbs). I'm guessing
that the MM itself is probably around 15 lbs of that. not bad; the
Alesis Ion, for example, is 20 lbs. I thought the MM would be much
heavier, given the weight of the MD and their similar casings.

though, I'm in Seattle, so it may be a while longer because of whatever 
hoops they gotta jump through to get things over here.

mine's scheduled for monday delivery. though if they decide to keep the
MM at customs as long as they kept my Sidstation, it'll be at least
another week. :-(

I'm surprised you're worried about them taking a week extra.  Elektron 
seems pretty standup.... Even if it was going to take extra time, I'd 
trust it was for a good reason.  I certainly wouldn't want something 
shipped to me that they felt wasn't ready.

I'm pretty okay with it. except I'm going to a show that night; so
depending on when they deliver it, I might not get to play it until I
get home; then I'll likely be up all night :-)

No, no...I meant *customs* keeping it,  not Elektron. Elektron's already
shipped it and sent me a tracking #.  on one of the two occasions when
my Sidstation was shipped to me, they kept it at US customs for a week
(I have no idea why). when I shipped it back to Sweden once, *Swedish*
customs kept it for a week! nobody likes to just read the paperwork and
send it on its way, I guess :-(

and the week wait didn't seem to help them much because they still
didn't read the paperwork.  I had to fight with them and fax them copies
of their own airway bill just to prove that it was in fact a warranty
repair and not a purchase (so I wouldn't have to pay tax+duties on it).

I'm in Seattle and I received notification of shipment today. The
arrival time is listed as the 23rd for me. Given my inept building
manager, I probably will have to drive down to pick it up the next
day. Work isn't going to go well that day with the MM sitting next to me.

Another Seattle monomachine owner!  Nice!

Perhaps we should keep a line of communication going between us as we 
both live nearby and will be exploring the same machines.  ;-]

I just emailed Elektron and asked what was up with the order.  
Hopefully I'll hear something soon.  ;-]

that sucks. I ordered when there were 3 left, so maybe they're working
