MM some (new) suggestions

MM some (new) suggestions

2003-09-26 by Roonan

I was thinking about a few features and would like to know if more
people are wanting/needing them.

1. Noise generator on the Swave machines. To me it's an absolutely
needed component of an analogue synth.

2. Modulation matrix. After the third LFO page another page (All LFO
leds burn or change color) where you can select sources and
destinations. This way you can assign one LFO to more destinations.
Sources could be variables already available like, velocity, AT,
CC's , LFO's, TRigs, ENV, ect......

3. A way to control the parameter locks. With the joystick you could
relatively control them so the effect they have can be altered.
Something like a very powerfull accent control!

Ronald.

PS. Just thinking out loud but I really want the noise generator!

Is that really needed together with the swave-sounds? Do you use
that as an integrated part of your sounds, or do you rather use it
on its own mostly? If so you can already use it with the noise
machine, and when you want to couple it you could use an extra track
together with the SWAVE machines.

I don't understand why you would like the LFO to control the
velocity etc, when you can laready have the LFO control what the
velocity control!

And don't forget that you can use the LFO trigs to set trigs where
you can exclusively have the LFO to affect the sound. That way you
can make your own accent-style trigs.

You could do that with the LFO trigs. Set the joystick to control
the LFO amount, set the LFO to be a type of half saw/ramp, and then
set LFO trigs _only_ where you want the joystick to control the
sound.

Try to think freely with the LFO trigs / assign / modulation - you
can do really much with that combination already!

By my knowledge almost every analogue synth has one (and for a
reason) and yes, I use it to mix with the other osc. esp. for wind
instruments and accents on basslines. The Saw has two empty spots in
the synth page so I don't see why not. I know I can layer or mix with
other tracks but that will cost one extra track just for that.

You missunderstood me, not vel. as destination but as source. What I
would like to see is a way to connect different sources with
destinations.
It's on a lot of synths and it is a very powerfull feature. But you
are right about the unique way's to control the MM, other synth's
don't have that. Maybe I just have to get used to a new way of
working and programming.

Yes, I discovered something like this, it was just an idea and I
guess the MM has already lot's of power controlling things.
