Use an aux output and filter the sound...

This is the same as implying you have no use of the internal distortion to
beef up track sound as part of the sound synthesis process... :-)

Well, it might help if you're in need of a solution and there's nothing else
you can think of. Of course you can use one of the internal filters, too,
but I'm not sure if those are placed before, or after the distortion - which
may lead to different results.

Indeed.. I have plenty of sonic distruction material. But I was wondering
what people thought of the one implemented.... if they're happy with it or
not :)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. To me the MD distorsion
sounds too digital and cold. Putting a kick drum through it always
makes me feel like I am doing some kind of dull hardcore. It is useful
though to add more high frequencies to snares and suchlike.

Same here... I use it mainly on hats to make them crisper.

I'll layer a distorted kick with a short decay under a clean one with a
hard decay, adjusting the distorted kick's attack from step to step to
simulate tighter controlled swing 'illusioins'.

There really is nothing I'd rather on the MnM than some messy overdrive and
distortion. What do you guys think?

Angus.

Move to quarantaine
