Quantizing LIVE RECORDINGS in MM

Quantizing LIVE RECORDINGS in MM

2003-11-02 by cb202303

Hi everyone...
Well I finally got my MM. Looks great beside my MD.
The MM is such a great synth! Worth every penny...
Nice work Elektron! My MM is totally perfect.

So I've been playing with the Live Recording sequencer feature and it
seems to be missing a important aspect of sequencing...
Quantizing of midi or sequencer notes for Live Recording.

I really need to be able to quantize to the 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16 note.
How do I do that in the MM?
I take it that this is a feature that is just not implemented yet?
Or is it in there somewhere and I just don't see it?

thanks everyone,
Chris

Huh?
All notes are quantized automatic due to the step grid to 1/16 or
1/32 (per measure). 1/4 and 1/8 can be played by hand I guess.... :-)
I don't understand how you still need the quantize feature.
Are you not capable to play these timings by hand?

Or do you mean 1/4 per step? That's not possible.
1/32 per measure is the smallest timing possible on the MM.
You can play with programmable swing tough.

Ronald.

Hi,

what I mean is lets say I record a pattern live and find that I don't
like the Quantize used. Lets say its not tight enough... 1/8 or 1/4
note.
so I want to reQuantize the sequence to the nearest 1/16.

I can do that very easily on the emy mp7 and akai mpc..
should be able to do that here too...
how does one do that?

wait I figured it out? By Adjusting the Scale Setup?

There is no free realtime record mode in the MM.
All notes are quantized to 1/16th or 1/32 per measure.
If you want to change that you can do that with scale setup.
There simply is no quantize function because everything is quantized
already due to the step structure of the sequencer.

as well as 1/48th or 1/64th, depending on the number of steps in your
sequence.

hi,
what I meant by realtime recording was the live recording mode.
Scaleup seems to do the trick.
thanks.

Chris.
