Monomachine "trig select" help needed [Daniel]

Monomachine "trig select" help needed [Daniel]

2003-11-04 by Joe

I don't completely understand this TRIG SELECT business. I understand
what it *does*, but not how to set it up. The manual is a little
unclear in this section and makes it seem as though you can sequence
the trig select setting with parameter locks. Is this right? If so,
how do you do it? Also, can you change the TRIG SELECT setting for
individual tracks? So far, I can only change it globally.

It's a great idea, though. It makes the arpeggiator REALLY
interesting (as if it needs any help; that thing's awesome!).

Anyway, thanks in advance for the help!
Joe.

Function + Step = trigger step

That's about all I can help with here. ;-]

No, that sets a "trigless trig". That's a position you can use for
setting parameter locks or pitch without trigging any envelopes.

The trig select button do not actually change anything when you
press it. You just cycle through the modes of entering and editing
steps.

Normally you set all three trig tracks, that conforms to how a
normal sequencer works. If you want to transform a normal trig into
a trigless, then you first set it to AMP, remove the trig, then set
it to FIlTER, remove the trig and finally set it to LFO and remove
the trig. For the individual trig-tracks you can see it change from
red (the trig on this trig-track is set) to green (the trig on this
track is not set, but something else is going on on this step).

To out a use of the individual trig tracks, program a sequence so
that all trig-tracks are set (the normal ALL mode). Set the filter
to decay to that it is open at the beginning of the note, and about
half way down at the end of the 1/16 note. Play the sequence and
listen to how the filter is lifted for each trig. Then change the
trig-select to only affect the filter trig-track. Remove all trigs
och the filter trig track so the leds turn green. Notice how the
filter is never lifted. Now enter the filter trigs at some random
positions, and notice how you can control the filter envelope
individually from the note-trigs.

This is just one way it could be used. Probably some of the most
useful applications can come from setting the lfo to some ramp or
exp form, and being able to easily control on which positions it
should affect its destination.

Sorry if this is a bit unclear, it is a bit hard to explain when not
having the unit in front, or being able to show some figures.

I guess I have my nomenclature off, I thought that's what he was asking
for. Sorry for the misinformation.
